Creative Music Lessons

Recently I have been devoting a lot of time to distinguishing between performing music in a way that brings a “magical element” – that is moving, evoking emotions in the listener close to the legendary catharsis – from that which is correct, faithful to the metronome and routine, which resembles white sediment on black, once beautiful tiles (that’s what it reminded me of).

In every musician some forces push us either in one or the other direction – the most important thing, however, is to catch on in time and devote yourself to the search for musical expression, which has the right to be more personal – authentic – than “school-like” correct.

The truth of life is that what is correct and in some way ossified no longer conquers hearts.

Now a musician must fight harder for the attention and emotions of the Listener because we live in quite complicated times. To cope with this complicated state, people – including listeners – have equipped themselves with mental armor protecting their hearts and minds.
It is indeed harder to hurt them with the dramas of the modern world, touch them with sadness, or fill them with fear, but it is also harder to move a person so armored with the beauty of music.
Unless there is some intention, or emotion behind the performance – which is conveyed not only by the music and the wish of the long-dead composer (which of course must be taken into account, as well as the context, etc.), but also by the contribution of the musician, who, approaching the performance of music in this way – emotional and personal, turns from a laborer into an artist.
Below I present to you my mini projects, where I compare my natures:
Conservative Zdzislawovska, who loves the metronome and accents, Crazy Madame Caccia – probably the first oboist in a greater latitude, who turned playing the oboe da caccia into a year-round passion and diverse in terms of topics, and Music of the Blavatsky Spice – a subjective mixture of many years of experience, education, sensitivity, and imagination. The Blavatsky Spice blend can be enjoyed by any musician, regardless of whether they play the oboe or the violin.

Therefore, if a person is playing here – looking for musical freedom inspired by joy and personality, who is close to what Blavatsky Spice offers – please contact me 🙂
Lessons can take place in Utrecht, via Zoom, and also in Poland – in Gdynia, in Warsaw.
